Online Estimate Tool

The online estimate tool, located on the website is solely for the convenience of the supplier and is only to be used as providing an estimated price of the precious metal item(s).

The online estimate tool is based upon the presumption that the information provided by the supplier is accurate (based upon the current market value of the precious metal on the day of use, and not necessarily the price of the precious metal on the day Goldealers receive your item(s)).

The price that is generated by the online estimate tool is not to be treated as an offer for which Goldealers will be bound by, which the Supplier accepts by sending the item(s) to Goldealers Ltd.

The supplier is aware that all item(s) will be tested for accuracty.

Sending items to us

The supplier is responsible for ensuring that all item(s) are packaged appropriately when sending the item(s) to Goldealers Ltd.

Goldealers Ltd will not accept any liability for any damage, breakage and/or loss to the item(s) whilst in transit to them.

It is the supplier‘s responsibility to ensure that the most appropriate shipping and insurance for their item(s) is selected.

Goldealers Ltd strongly recommends that the Supplier sends all item(s) using Royal Mail Special Delivery together with the appropriate level of insurance.

Goldealers Ltd does not endorse the use of Royal Mail Recorded Delivery as this does not offer either sufficient insurance or security, if at all.

Goldealers Ltd reserves the right to reject any item(s) which appear to be damaged, opened, or tampered with. Goldealers Ltd reserve the right to return any such item(s) to the consumer via the post office.

Counter Service

Goldealers Ltd offer a counter service for the convenience of the supplier.

This counter service is available via appointment only. Suppliers who turn up unannounced may be asked to leave their item(s) with us, or be turned away.

Assay, testing and valuation

Goldealers Ltd will test and weigh all item(s) sent to them by the Supplier upon receipt of the same.

Where possible, Goldealers Ltd will test items using industry standard X-Ray Flourescence technology to avoid damaging any items.

There may be occasion when it is necessary to file a very small sample or apply an acid test to the item(s) sent in by the Supplier. Goldealers Ltd will endeavour to ensure this is done on an area of the item(s) that is not easily visible. As a result of such testing, the item(s) may become tarnished. However, such tarnishing is usually superficial and can normally be polished out.

There may be occasion when it is necessary to perform a full melt and assay in order to establish a valuation. This will happen in consultation with the supplier, and may incur charges.

Goldealers Ltd reserve the right to estimate the weight or remove any non-precious metal material (e.g. glass, stones, enamel, steel, precious stones or other metals). Items may be damaged in the process and as such Goldealers Ltd accepts no responsibility for any damage caused in respect thereof.

In the event that Goldealers Ltd determine that an item is actually non precious metal (e.g. copper, zinc, nickel alloy), the items will be destroyed.

Goldealers Ltd reserve the right to request the cost of postage for non-precious metal items to be returned.

Payment

Goldealers Ltd is a cash-free business.

All payments for precious metal items will be via bank transfer, either BACS or Faster Payments.

Where possible, Goldealers Ltd will provide a tracking link, so that the supplier can track the payment.

Cancellation Policy

If Goldealers have incurred any costs outside the normal scope of a basic appraisal when determining the value of the suppliers’ items, Goldealers Ltd reserve the right to pass these costs onto the supplier prior to returning any items. Examples of such costs include costs such as melting, refining, sending items 3rd party appraisal etc.

Please note that after payment has been issued to the supplier, metals are typically melted, refined and sold on the same day. As such, it is not usually possible to return goods to the supplier once prices have been agreed and payment has been processed.

Goldealers reserves the right to return any item(s) to the Supplier.

Once payment has been issued for the supplier‘ item(s), the transaction is considered complete. Item(s) will not be returned to the supplier until Goldealers Ltd has been refunded into its bank account, and funds have cleared.

Sample valuations

Goldealers Ltd offer a sample testing service as a gesture of goodwill and this service incurs costs by Goldealers Ltd. The purpose of testing samples, is for the purpose of appraising material of a larger batch. Sometimes, the costs incurred in testing any sample material can far outweigh the value of the sample. As such, Goldealers Ltd reserve the right not to return or pay for samples which have been sent to Goldealers Ltd, or its partners, and reserve the right not to pay the supplier for samples tested in the event that the larger transaction is not proceeding.

Sometimes, the act of testing the sample results in a destructive form of testing, and it may not be possible to recover the tested sample.

Trade suppliers

Supplies of precious metal in industrial form will be treated as a trade supply.

VAT registered suppliers & business account holders understand that once precious metals are in the posession of Goldealers Ltd, or its partners, the transaction cannot be reversed. Precious metals are assayed, costs are incurred, and precious metals are sold immediately. As such, distance selling laws do not apply.

Trade supplies are covered under a separate terms of sale agreement.
